Peace and Love
Funny, the new motto for most people now a days is peace and love. Show me the peace and love. Don’t confront me because you should have peace and love. We all just want peace and love. Don’t take that from me because I am all about the peace and love. Peace and Love everywhere.
So why is it that everyone wants to smash my bubble and call ME the one with the problem when all I am doing is pointing out flaw in their so called peace and love. I have read several blogs and comments on social networks lately from people that are not about peace and love. They are negative and random. Some of them are so filled with hooey that I have to wonder if the person who wrote it even bothers to remember what they have written in the past that contradicts their current statements. I am not trying to be negative myself even though I am sure it sounds like it right now but I just don’t understand what is going on. I would love to see everyone get along. I would have joy in my heart on the day that I could go to work or be out and about and everyone was polite to one another no matter what was going on. When you told someone you couldn’t do something and they asked why nicely, you explained it and they said O.K. and accepted it. But sadly that is not how it is.
Instead most people have the, “I will get back at them before they can get back at me mentality.” Or the, “I won’t just get even I will get more frame of mind.” Their is a kid, and I use that term loosely because he is 21, that works for my husband. Some guy slashed two of his tires the other night while he was at his parents house. Fortunately the kid was able to get the tag number of the guy before he drove off. When the officer was their filing the paperwork the kid was able to get all the guys information by looking over the shoulder of the officer. The kid wanted to go out and find this guy and slash all four of his tires just to get even. Fortunately my husband and the other guy working with them reminded the kid about the “Crime Report” a local rag that comes out every 2 weeks with everyone who has been arrested in Mobile County. The kid knows that if I see him in it I will have the picture enlarged and framed. But this is just one example of what I am talking about.
I have to chuckle every time I see a commercial on T.V. where actors wants us to all get along and embrace peoples differences. They want us to all get along and help in the community. They mention sites like Characters Unite where we can all get along no matter what our color, nationality, religious beliefs or sexual orientation. And that sounds great in theory but in reality it’s just not going to happen until we as humans mature enough to truly accept EVERYONES beliefs and differences. Not just the, “you should accept me and my differences but if you don’t agree with me then I don’t have to accept you or your differences.”
So back to the main point of peace and love. I for one would love to live in peace but for now I am content with just setting the example and seeing what happens.
